01 January 2015, sitting at the same apartment I was in when I started writing 2010 harvesting in Ain Soukhna, east Egypt, with my family (Manal, Judy & Miral) and Rasha
looking back at a year that is yet more or less like the last 2 years...still waiting for tourism to be back to Egypt after the action that they called the revolution of 2011 January
as for the world events:
- the political fights to make Qarm region independent from Ukraine,,,supported by Russia and resisted by Ukraine and USA...ended with getting independence for the region away from Ukraine to be following Russia
- Scotland voted to be independent from UK, but eventually the people of Scotland voted for staying with UK
- more stability in Egypt under the current president power "Abdelfattah El Sisi"
- more power to China and less to USA, more powerful decisions and taking over to KSA and UAE from one side and Qatar from the other side
more famous actors passed away from Egypt:
Said Saleh - Khaled Saleh - Youssef Eid - the legendary "Sabah"
personally:
when I came back from the River Allegro in August 2013 and stayed waiting for another chance to join the ships of Grand Circle Cruise Line, long waiting made me accept to work for "Al Rowad Tours" in downtown to create a department for inbound and outgoing tours, having almost no experience in the field and with a big support from my great wife, I managed to stay working from November 2013 till April 2014 but with the mindset of my direct manager "Mohamed Kamel Amin - AKA Fakher Amin" and the owner "Ashraf Wahid" besides the lack of experience in the field, i accepted to return to GCCL once they offered and traveled to Germany to join the MS River Allegro again on 21 May where I started again as a NGA and promoted to FDA (Front Desk Agent) and step up Assistant Hotel Manager with Alexandru Kilin the Hotel Manager
in June, Shannon Levi (ex. RGM Egypt and Middle East) asked me if I can be a buddy pair for the new Program Services Manager in Morocco and I accepted of course...finally I got the chance to be again in Program Services, the department I liked always...I joined Morocco team in 1 Sep. and together with Chaker Abichou (ex. Tunisia Area Manager) we discovered all the corruption was done in Morocco office, we fired 9 of the strongest trip leaders and had new trip leaders joining the team, we fired the current PSM and I got the position temporarily till we hire a Moroccan PSM
I got to know Alper Tizer and Mehmet Guler from Turkey and gained a lot from them
I got some of my reputation back as a good Program Services candidate
in 29 August we lost "Sally Koura" one of Egypt great guides who were just married 4 months before her death in a tragic car accident...she was a treasure and a module of the Egyptians who loved their country and had the Egyptians great attitude
my brother Shehab is on the way to engage Hoda...after long waiting
my brother in low Ashraf on the way to engage Fatema...after long waiting
Manal Salary was increased finally and my salary got better as well
I asked Hany Helmy my friend to start working in my apartment to finalize it
Judy joined EIS (Egyptian International School) in KG1
let's hope 2015 will be a better year
